YOUNGLIVES

YOUNGLIVES:  Anneke Brown  serves with YoungLives in Norwalk/Bridgeport to connect teenage mothers and teenagers at risk for pregnancy with caring female Christian mentors so that these young women will have an opportunity to hear the Gospel message and learn healthy parenting techniques and life skills that promote personal growth and responsibility.

YoungLives takes the proven principles of Young Life's 60 years of experiences in youth outreach and applies them to these at risk teen girls.  YoungLives mentors develop one-on-one, caring, long-term relationships with these teenage girls. YoungLives mentors hold monthly events and provide small group activities and discussions for teens at risk for pregnancy. There are also camp experiences for the girls and their children where they have the opportunity to consider faith in Jesus Christ as part of their holistic growth.

YoungLives also provides referrals to community, healthcare, social services, and educational programs as well as local churches.  In a world of poverty, delinquency, multigenerational teen pregnancy, substance abuse and violence, a YoungLives mentor may be the only positive adult relationship in a girl’s life. Our PCOG Women’s Ministries and MOPS have wonderfully helped these teens in various ways. Anneke Brown can be reached at(203) 803-3030  or  anneke@younglives.younglife.org
